Smashed Canoe

Surfboard Boat

Elk Township, NJ
Route 538 & Elmer - Richwood Road

BOOM ......... SPIN .......... FLIP
Ten Years of dedication, 284,000 miles, and what does the Julio-mobile get? Smacked in the rear driver's side by a 19 year old guy driving his girlfriends car who just ran a blinking red light. Yes indeed, all this happened at the intersection of Route 538 and Elmer - Richwood Road. This is the same intersection that one year earlier Julio almost got smacked while on his bike by a lady in a white van also running the blinking red light. Deja vous?

The result of this collision was the good old Merc doing a 360 degree spin, sliding off the road into a bog, and the tires digging in the soft dirt which rolled the vehicle onto it's roof. Now all of this created one "UGLY" picture.

The entire front windshield cracked and falling inward, passenger side window smashed, left rear quarter panel smashed in with the running board falling off and rear bumper not bumping anymore. Both mirrors hanging by their electric wires, three of the four tires blown out and I mean blown, fiberglass canoe on the top now doing an imitation of a pancake, and bog water all over the roof of the vehicle since it ended up "upside down".

So now 'The Old Girl' sits in a yard full of wrecked cars, at Ralphs Auto Repair, on the Delsea Drive in Clayton, NJ. A disgusting mess of bent metal, broken glass, and swamp grasses hanging from parts of it's extremities. What a way to end a intimate relationship!

If you can stomach the images, go ahead and click the "pics of the mess" button. It sure AIN"T pretty!
The insult does continue however, I'm now told that this Honey of a SUV because of it's age and mileage is only worth $4043 before the ( $500 ) deductible. BOHICA Momma !
