The great battle field of Gettysburg is another Historic Site we
have listed on our things to do list.
We decided to stay outside
of Gettysburg at a location called Gifford Pinchot SP.
We arrived right at dusk and were forced to set up in the dark.
Backing "The Flush" into a State Park RV site is not the easiest
thing to do. But with a few extra light hook-ups we managed.
On my Birthday, October 7th, we set out to investigate how tours,
ticketing, and what information the Visitors Center could provide.
As we quickly learned there is no end to the many things you have to
choose from. We took in a number of presentations on the chronology
of the Battle including what events lead up to it.
The entire experience at Gettysburg is amazing. Choosing the self
guided tour using a CD for directions and Historic details proved
to be the best choice we made.
Taking our time to cover the entire Battle
Field was perfect for us. This gave plenty of time for pictures, rerun the CD
if we missed any details, and to exit the car for close up inspections.
