Niagara Falls
If you have never been to Niagara Falls, make a point of it to get there some day! It is truly a magnificent sight to see. In 1972 I had the chance to see the ‘Falls’ but for some reason the Falls had only white lights become quite the showplace. In four days we got to the ‘Falls’ every time we could. It never ceases to amaze! The enormity, beauty, and power that exist are mind boggling. This time I had the opportunity to see it from the American side. What a tremendous sight that is. The upper Northwest corner of NY contains some of the most beautiful towns you can ever encounter. Lewiston is one that looks like it came right off the TV screen. The Main Street is awesome. You could spend countless hours just wondering thru town. And …... Here you go, the people are NICE! That’s right I said it. If you know me, I am very bias against New Yorkers. But these folks are great. They speak English, answer questions, give directions, and even recommend places to go. Wow, will wonders never cease?
We had the pleasure of meeting a number of folks from Canada too. They come over to spend vacation in the U.S., shop, sightsee, and simply enjoy themselves. One couple we met was Jean-Michel and his wife Karen. Johnny-Mikey (I renamed him Kermit, One excursion took us to another winery and then to a BREWHOUSE. There has whispers, unsubstantiated yet, that next year we may return to Niagara Falls in the form of a FAMILY vacation. Wow, what an idea. Let’s see who wins the race for first one over the Falls in a barrel!! |
