This destination was a total miscalculation of mileage on our part. We made the reservation because we were lucky to get one at this facility and afterward realized we broke our 200/7 rule. (Travel no more than 200 miles and stay 7 nights) Distance to this Park from Niagara Falls was 264 miles and took all day driving winding back roads and very strange fueling locations. We were so exhausted by the time we arrived, that I forgot to close the front door and our one eyed cat, Probbie, decided to take a brief walk in the wild. Coaxing the little devil back inside the FLUSH turned out to be a huge effort. Once again, we made a huge blunder. When reserving our site we knew it was only 30 amps. No problem since we can use 30 or 50. However, the electric box has a 30 amp connector and our electric line has a 50. So, we needed a converter plug. Next morning we found ourselves in Howard, Pa. at a great little RV dealer that had what we wanted and some things we have been looking for in the past. All’s well that ends well!! On the way into Howard, we stopped for breakfast at the “First Corner Restaurant”. It’s named that because it’s on the ONLY corner in Town. The sausage & eggs were phenomenal! The restaurant also had an old fashioned “SODA FOUNTAIN” that advertised Root beer Floats. Bald Eagle has a Resort associated with it. You’ll see pics of it on the picture page. It has everything a visitor could want including a cooking area with multiple BBQ’s and smokers. Did you hear that, Matt? All the camp sites were located on the top of the Mountain. This meant that we had DIRECT TV and the sunsets were awesome. We were warned by our daughter that pictures should have people in them but it’s hard capturing a beautiful sunset with someone standing in the sky. We never had a chance to Kayak and that was unfortunate. The Lake at Bald Eagle resembles and hour-glass. It forms two really great appearing lakes. Next time here we’ll make a point of getting out and paddle. Next on the route is a trip back to the Corps of Engineering Lake Raystown. Well known for “The Great 2013 Medical Hoax”. (More on that in the next adventure) Raystown is less than 100 miles away. Any bets on how long it will take us to get there?
